There are many types and degrees of disability. Your situation is like no other. We do not train dogs for a disability, our goal is to help you train your dog to meet your specific disability needs.
Our program is designed to place service dogs with their handlers as puppies, and take them step by step through the training process.
We start with top quality standard poodles bred specifically for health, intelligence, and temperament. Our dogs are imprinted for service work by being born and raised in the home environment. The puppies live in our busy home from birth to several weeks old, exposing them early to family, social situations, sounds, and activities.
All pups are screened to determine their temperament. We look for attentiveness, retrieval instincts, confidence, assertive/submissive tendencies, and much more. That helps us to guide your individual training.
It's a simple 5 step process:
1. You submit an application to Heritage Service Dogs.
